ABOUT ME
WHERE I COME FROM
Born and raised in small-town Kansas. I am an aspiring political science major and hopefully will be studying human rights law. In school, I am the Secretary of my student body, President of our National Honors Society chapter, Senior Officer of our Gender-Sexuality Alliance, an avid participant of our musicals and plays, and four times state qualified Speech and Debate competitor.
CAREER ASPIRATIONS
Currently, I am working with Lawrence Kansas Legislature representative and the senator of my district to pass anti-discrimination legislation for all Kansas workers, as well as working with my district's Board of Education to implement LBGTQ+ curriculum into history and sexual education courses.

My experiences with my state representatives have better shaped my aspirations in life and prepared me for the inevitable resistance that Kansas politics creates.
SELF EXCLAMATION
"Equality Protects Opportunity"
I am a firm believer in the idea that equality protects opportunity. When every community and demographic is treated the same, marginalized and oppressed communities have protections against discrimination. However, when discrimination is allowed to be justified, the right to equal opportunity is removed and the fundamental values of the United States are undermined.

Through my Innovation Academy project, I can use my time in school to actively learn about my civil duties as an American citizen. I believe that this time is a privilege that I have been gifted, and I should use my privilege to speak for those that lack a voice because no one is willing to listen.
